Expiry Tracker

Last updated: 14 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Schneider ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Expiry Tracker mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

01Information We Collect

02How We Use Information

03Where Your Data Is Stored

Your tracked items and settings are stored locally on your device so the App can work offline for personal use. When you use household sharing or push reminders, the relevant data is also synced to our cloud backend (Google Firebase) so it can be shared with household members and delivered as notifications.

04Label Scanning & AI Processing

To read labels and receipts, photos you scan are sent securely to our backend and processed by Google's Gemini AI to extract product names, brands, and dates. These images are used only to extract those details, are not used to train AI models, and are not retained after processing. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

05Third-Party Services

We may use the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Each is operated by Google and governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

06Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties except the service providers listed above, the household members you choose to invite, or where required by law.

07Permissions

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings.

08Data Retention & Deletion

Data stored on your device remains until you delete an item, use "Clear data" in Settings, or uninstall the App. For cloud-synced household data, leaving a household or clearing your data removes your contributions from that household. Uninstalling removes locally stored data from your device.

09Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California), including the right to access, correct, or delete your information. You can exercise most of these directly in the App using item deletion and the "Clear data" option. For other requests, contact us below.

11Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
